The Individual Life Insurance Product Design and Innovation organization is seeking a Product Capability Manager to join our Product Strategy Team. This role, reporting to the Director of Product Strategy and Business Capabilities, is focused on the strategy and definition of designing new Life Insurance Solutions within our Product Development Process. It requires thought leadership and critical thinking abilities to lead the design efforts of a new product initiative. This is a hands-on role where you will need to independently drive the execution of developing a product concept through idea, definition, and implementation stages of a project as the lead expert on a life insurance product's design. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that the design of a product meets the strategic goals and objectives outlined in its business case.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Drives product feature definition and market research during feasibility for new product concepts.
Assists in prototyping activities around the evaluation of new product features.
Studies competitive trends to provide perspective of our Portfolio versus the Industry and analyzes internal data on Prudential's current product portfolio to identify trends.
Manages the strategic positioning of products by working with line leadership so that clear direction is provided to actuarial team during product pricing.
Liaison throughout Product Development Process to ensure that strategic goals are achieved.
Evaluates project deliverables and provides line leadership with recommendations so that informed decisions on tradeoffs can be made.
Develops Product Specifications and Calculations for new features and is the foremost expert on a product's definition in the insurance contract, prospectus, and other product materials.
Ensures all product requirements and distribution materials are accurate and ready for a Product's launch.
What you'll need:
Series 6 or successful completion within first 6 months.
Detailed oriented mindset with an ability to achieve high quality results.
Thought leader with demonstrated ability to make recommendations on tradeoffs with ability to provide direction on large cross functional projects.
Ability to work with legal and compliance experts to identify and assess any new product risks and ensure any challenges in the new product features are addressed.
Critical and abstract thinker that can absorb and maintain sophisticated product definition.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly convey product rules, and calculations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment to meet project deadlines.
It'd be a plus if you had:
Bachelor's degree – preferred.
5 Years or more of life insurance experience with a solid understanding of financial services - preferred.
Prior experience in product strategy, development and/or management – preferred.
Advanced excel skills preferred with the ability to develop product calculations in tools and examples as needed.

The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
