Lonza in Houston, TX presents an outstanding opportunity for a Head Of Quality Control. This role is well-suited for a visionary and proven leader who is ready to contribute to our esteemed team. Your primary focus will be on surpassing our quality standards, which is essential to our mission of improving lives on a global scale.
Supervise the Quality Control laboratory, ensuring that all operations are performed flawlessly and strictly adhere to cGMP standards and Lonza policies.
Develop and maintain tools to monitor QC resource capacity, providing insights to management and production planners to address capacity constraints.
Lead, mentor, and coach the QC team through regular meetings and performance management, setting and achieving individual and team goals that align with department and site strategies.
Prepare detailed responses to audits, deviations, out-of-specification investigations, customer complaints, and CAPA, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Plan and complete projects, prepare status reports, and deliver presentations to customers and management, showcasing our outstanding quality standards.
Manage the budget for the QC department, analyzing spending and identifying corrective actions for variances.
Develop and monitor performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the QC team's output.
A Bachelor's degree in a scientific subject area with relevant experience in a related field.
Advanced knowledge and experience working in a cGMP environment.
Strong leadership experience with a track record of successfully implementing quality control measures.
Proficiency in biological and cell-based assays, including flow cytometry and PCR.
Experience with method validation and technology transfer is preferred.
Familiarity with SAP, TrackWise, and LIMS systems is a plus.
