Purpose: The Enterprise Application Architect will strategically design, plan, manage, and direct all activities related to the architecture and integration of enterprise software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to ensure future stability and scalability of our entire technology stack. This role will develop and oversee the application architecture blueprint, and will be pivotal in driving architectural vision and strategy for our enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, customize, configure, and implement enterprise application architectures that support Bioventus's business strategy, vision, and objectives.
• Plan, execute, and manage the integration of new applications into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise, ensuring seamless interconnectivity and optimal performance, while proactively mitigating potential gaps and technology issues.
• Oversee testing of the interoperability of application modules under development by outsourced software development teams, commercial off-the-shelf software deployed in the organization, and with external third parties as necessary.
• Develop and manage architectural blueprints/roadmaps for all applications, their interconnectivity, and data flows. Develop SOPs to support all technology-related projects and initiatives.
• Manage the enterprise application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards, while reducing redundancy and optimizing the architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to technical teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance the enterprise application landscape.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and industry standards in all architectural designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to enterprise applications.
• Provide business architecture and systems processing guidance based on best practices and best-in-breed technology solutions. Ensure the company uses the right technologies to achieve its goals, helping reduce costs, and regulating technology environments.
• Develop compliance architecture methods, establish and govern software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, and maintain metrics to measure and improve team performance.
• Ensure integration projects meet business and user requirements; resolve systems issues.
• Research and make recommendations on integration products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Collaborate with analysts, designers, owners, and vendors in the testing and integration of software programs and applications. Liaise with software developers and engineers to address issues in programming logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing software.
• Lead the testing phase of software and applications under development to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
• Build relationships with software development and engineering teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality.
• Ensure collection and coherent interpretation of business processes affected by integrations.
• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and coaching to members of the team.

What you'll bring to the table:
Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.
• 15 years of relevant experience, including significant architecture and design experience.
• Proven experience as an Enterprise Application Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on SAP, middleware, and SaaS applications.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies, including APIs, web services, and messaging systems.
• Proven interpersonal and group communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving aptitude, and knowledge of integration best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Relevant certifications in SAP, enterprise architecture, or related areas are a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP modules IM/WM/EWM, PP, MM, SD, FSCM, QM, FICO, and S/4HANA, Fiori.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or Life Sciences environment.
