Essential Duties:
Develops or recommends development of procedures, techniques and process controls to assure products meet the established specifications and/or objectives.
Assist SQF Practitioner in verification and validation of SQF system and Pre-requisite programs.
Aides in QA Investigation on customer complaints where applicable.
Verifies monitoring of the CCP's according to the HACCP Plan.
Supervise shift activities including training personnel on all shifts as necessary.
Member of the Food Safety Team.
Monitor weekly lab equipment collaborative testing, calibration and maintenance activities.
Responsible for lab inventory control and ordering of reagents and equipment per budgetary constraints.
Maintain SDS records, hold and complaint files for proper documentation and communication.
Ability to perform the production supervisor's functions and cover position when needed.
Coordinate quality meetings with raw and packaging material suppliers for continuous improvement.
Participate in safety meetings.
Conduct monthly HACCP, GMP and lab documentation audits.
Assist with shift new product and new packaging trials.
Work on special projects as assigned by QA Manager.
Education, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor degree in related field
Minimum of three to five years of related experience
HACCP and PCQI certifications (required)
SQF Practitioner and Better Process Control Certificate (preferred)
Knowledge of all quality control standards, specifications and procedures. Experience with SQF code helpful.
General maintenance and troubleshooting ability on lab equipment.
Good verbal communication and written skills.
Able to navigate through a manufacturing environment
Minimal travel requirements of less than 10%
