Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Fulltime (Healthcare)

Essential Duties
• Identify Residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc..
• Use authorized abbreviations established by facility when documenting.
• Report all changes in the Resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor asap.
• Record all entries in an informative, descriptive manner.
• Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
• Agree not to disclose Resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
• Perform only those nursing care procedures that you have been trained to do.
• Ensure Resident comfort.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
• Meet nursing personnel, on a regularly scheduled basis, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
• Participate in and receive the nursing report as instructed.
• Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulses, and respirations (TPRs) of Residents, as instructed. Weigh and measure residents as instructed.
• Ensure that Residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
• Answer Resident calls promptly.
• Check Residents routinely to ensure needs are being met.
• Assist Residents with identifying food arrangements. (i.e., informing resident with sight problem of foods that are on his/her tray, where it is located, if it is hot/cold, etc.).
• Keep Residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water & within reach.
• Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
• Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
• Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the Residents.
• Notify the facility when you will be late or absent from work.
• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents.
• Assist Residents with daily functions.
• Keep Residents dry.
• Assist Residents in preparing for medical tests.
• Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting Residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
• Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent decubitus ulcers (bedsores).
• Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears.
• Observe and report disoriented and comatose Residents.
• Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any Resident leaving/missing from the facility.
• Use only the equipment you have been trained to use.
• Report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse
• Maintain the confidentiality of all Resident care information.
• Report all allegations of Resident abuse and/or misappropriation property.
• Honor the Resident's refusal of treatment request.
This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Must possess KBN SRNA Certification, and minimum, of 10th grade education.
CPR Preferred
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Prolonged use of a desktop or laptop computer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk and talk, read or hear. Frequent use of all office related equipment to include copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of Residents during emergency situations.
