Manager, Import-Export & Food Safety (Finance)
Plans, develops, and implements techniques, processes and procedures for controlling the necessary level of food storage safety and quality by coordinating with production, engineering, warehouse, suppliers and customers to resolve quality problems and ensures compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, SQF and other relevant standards. Oversees the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals, and manages the import/export processes and regulations for compliance.
What You'll Do:
• Establishes and monitors production, packaging, shipping, and warehousing standards by studying operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organizational charts and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities as they relate to quality and food safety.
• Interacts with USDA, FDA, and other officials by communicating in a timely manner regarding customer requests or inquiries related to product disposition, special shipping requirements and recall information between Operations and the customer, and reports any possible food safety hazards or threats to upper management immediately upon discovery.
• Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to food quality and food safety, including onboard training for new hires regarding safety, security, and other relevant areas, training facility management in the quality assurance theory and practice, processes and procedures, and communicating to relevant staff information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.
• Serve as a compliance officer for the Company and proactively work on job related safety issues by ensuring internal QC functions are conducted and outlined in QC SOP's and taking appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the overall SQF System.
• Proposes responses to any regulatory agencies action such as refused entries, FTP's, samples, inedible product, etc. and works with management to further develop import/export programs and activity to prevent or minimize future occurrences and works with regulatory agencies to further establish import and export future policy and programs that enhance the system.
• Maintains internal SOP's such as Sanitation, storage of pet food, repack to domestic, presentation of shipments, and other programs which support the establishments continued activities.
What Experience and Education You Need:
• High School Diploma and five (5) years of work experience in quality assurance/control.
What Could Set You Apart :
• Practicing SQF Practitioner, HACCP Certified, PCQI
• Oversee, train and mentor QC technicians.

• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management

The Company's good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $86,000 - $107,000 annually. Rate may vary based on work location.
