Director of Operations (SY25-26) (Security)
Manage and improve daily school operations, including transportation, food service, facilities, and front office systems.
Develop school-wide operational systems and playbooks to promote efficiency and excellence.
Oversee school safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance with city, state, and federal regulations.
Student Information Systems & Data Management
Oversee the implementation of SIS and data infrastructure, ensuring accurate and timely input and reporting of student data (attendance, grades, discipline, schedules, etc.).
Collaborate with academic teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Manage reporting for local and state compliance, including MARSS and other MDE requirements.
Enrollment & Recruitment
Lead the schools student enrollment strategy, application processes, and lottery systems in collaboration with school leadership.
Oversee student recruitment campaigns and events to meet enrollment targets and reflect NMAs mission and values.
Build strong relationships with community partners and feeder programs.
Human Resources & Talent Management
Manage HR functions including onboarding, employee files, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and compliance.
Oversee employee lifecycle processes (hiring, evaluation, offboarding) in partnership with school leadership.
Foster a people-first culture, ensuring positive staff experiences through professional growth systems, recognition efforts, and retention strategies.
Financial & Resource Oversight
Collaborate with finance partners to manage the operations budget, track expenditures, and ensure responsible resource stewardship.
Coordinate procurement and inventory systems, ensuring staff and students have the tools they need to succeed.
Team Leadership & Culture
Supervise operations team members, including office managers, custodial/maintenance staff, and support personnel.
Provide clear direction, accountability, and coaching to direct reports.
Model and promote NMAs RHINO core values in all areas of operations.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in operations, preferably in a K12 school or nonprofit setting.
Demonstrated success managing complex projects and cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus).
Preferred
Masters degree in education leadership, business, or a related field.
Experience in charter school or urban education settings.
Knowledge of Minnesota Department of Education requirements and compliance standards.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
