Overview
The Business Analyst will analyze supply chain data within the "Systems and Quality" team, as part of the Manufacturing Supply Chain and Materials Management (MSCMM) function, to improve supply chain processes and systems at Cook. They are expected to leverage existing tools and identify gaps in our systems to optimize inventory, minimize cost, and achieve customer service goals. This role would assist the MSCMM function in developing and improving business processes such as forecasting, capacity planning, SIOP, and monitoring results.
Responsibilities
• Support the Systems & Quality Team mission of "ensuring that MSCMM and the manufacturing teams have the right systems, tools, data, metrics, and business processes in place to execute Cook Inc's end-to-end supply chain functions."
• Collaborate cross-functionally and with team members to develop recommendations on business process improvements.
• Provide necessary data, access, and analysis as part of continuous improvement project teams.
• In systems and tools, identify opportunities to eliminate gaps, ensure data integrity, and reduce manual intervention in business processes.
• Complete complex spreadsheet analysis during issue resolution or scenario planning and develop risk analysis and offer recommendations to management. Prepare team-wide or external presentations as required.
• Manage (or assist) product phase-outs such that obsolete inventory is minimized.
• Leverage Lean or Six Sigma tools for process improvement in order to increase service and optimize inventory. Review and recommend capacity loading on assigned production lines and forecast.
• Conduct analysis and recommend solutions for inventory allocation where worldwide service is maximized. Query databases for information required for decision-making.
• Develop and publish Power BI applications for manufacturing, supply chain, and finance customers.
• As part of the SIOP process, assist managers in ensuring schedule adherence, service levels and inventory targets are met. Communicate risks, elevate issues and recommend solutions that require management involvement.
• Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth.
• Adhere to Quality Management System and its processes for FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
• BS/BA degree required; preferably in Business, Operations, Statistics, Finance or other related field.
• Thorough understanding of supply planning, material resource planning (MRP), and inventory management principles.
• Preferred: 2+ years' experience (or equivalent training and education) in a business function requiring mathematical/statistical analysis and preferably the concepts of manufacturing and inventory planning.
• Experience working as part of a team to solve problems, implement solutions, and document lessons-learned/improved processes.
• Computer proficiency, experience with Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Proficiency in SAP Business Objects, Power BI applications, and/or other data analysis and storage platforms is a significant plus.
Physical Requirements:
• General office setting
• Exposure to moderate noise and light levels within manufacturing facility
• Requires close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.
• Maintain a physical presence in the areas of responsibility
• Proper attire/clothing and personal protective equipment/clothing as
required within Controlled Production Areas
