ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of South Florida College of Nursing seeks an outstanding, full-time tenured Full Professor faculty member with a strong research focus. The ideal candidate will lead transformative research in one or more of the following areas: data systems science, health determinants science, implementation science, or precision science, with a central emphasis on advancing health equity. Priority will be given to candidates with research intersections in population and implementation health, behavioral science, health disparity, and /or chronic disease prevention and management. These areas of expertise will be critical in driving forward research that addresses current public health challenges and improves health outcomes, especially among vulnerable populations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in all aspects of the academic mission, including high-impact research, innovative teaching and mentorship, and meaningful service contributions. Faculty members are expected to maintain a robust, externally funded research program while advancing the mission and reputation of the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will advance the scientific knowledge base through impactful research, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and mentorship. They will develop and sustain an independent, extramurally funded research program as a principal investigator and provide mentorship to pre- and postdoctoral fellows, as well as junior faculty.
The candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to innovative pedagogy by designing and teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing courses, supervising graduate teaching assistants, and advising students.
The candidate will actively participate in service activities at the university, college, professional, and community levels, including faculty governance committees and special work groups. Furthermore, they will provide professional leadership within regional, national, and international professional societies, contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization.
Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Full Professor according to university criteria.
History of substantive extramural funding demonstrated leadership with building and managing research enterprises, commitment to excellence in teaching, and a vision that will position the College prominently on the national stage.
A proven record of producing creative work, professional writing, or research published in refereed and other professional journals, with recognition as an authority in the field of specialization.
If a nurse, eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
PREFERRED:
A well-established record of academic productivity, including a significant research portfolio and grant funding.
Experience teaching and mentoring graduate students, particularly research-oriented doctoral students.
Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor graduate students effectively.
