Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)
Summary
The primary focus of the Production Supervisor is to provide direction and leadership for shipping and receiving, thermoplastics, inventory control, and/or assembly departments. Attention to principles of servant leadership and continuous improvement processes will be vital to success in this role. The Production Supervisor is expected to have a frequent, positive presence on the production floor and must interface effectively with multiple areas of our business, including Global Customer Care, Quality Engineering, Machining, Production Planning, Finance, and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as external entities including vendors, distributors, and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
· Ensure SOP's are followed consistently, and recommend changes to SOP's where appropriate, consistent with FDA and ISO requirements.
· Provide positive supervision to employees, instilling a passion for CQ Medical's mission, a sense of urgency, a commitment to world-class customer service, a strong focus on quality, and a focus on employee development through reoccurring one on ones and employee development.
· Establish production schedules to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
· Maintains a safe work environment, reinforcing safety rules and making recommendations to help us increase safety levels in the plant.
· Supports all ISO quality systems and personnel development.
· Understand key operational objectives and translate these into actions for employees in the plant, ensuring that they understand the importance of their roles for the bigger picture.
· Communicate positively and professionally at all times, while leading employees, working with other departments, making suggestions for improvement, and addressing concerns.
· Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of teams.
· Participate in interviewing and hiring new employees
· Train employees and subsequently follow up to ensure effectiveness of training and continued adherence to policies and SOP's.
· Ensure all employees have all the training, tools, and information needed to be successful in their roles, and develop employees to enable further career growth.
· Review and approve time off requests and approve accurate timecards for employees
· Plan, assign, and direct work within the departments supervised.
· In conjunction with the Production Manager, complete accurate performance appraisals. Recognize and reward strong performance and adherence to CQ Medical's values and provide effective and fair discipline when needed.
· Address complaints and resolve problems quickly and fairly.
· Lead a team approach, celebrating wins and reinforcing a one-team atmosphere across all departments and across the entire organization.
· Must have the ability to forward think and have a continuous improvement mentality.
· Must have the ability to collaborate with others and have the initiative to drive improvements in their work area.
Required Education and/or Experience
· Minimum of Associate's degree in management, manufacturing, business, or other relevant field and one to three years of experience in distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse leadership. Or Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant leadership role Or Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1 year of relevant leadership experience.
