Accounting and Audit Services Intern (Finance)
Hey Students! We are on the lookout for TWO Accounting & Audit Services Interns. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the accounting world, gain valuable experience, and enhance your critical thinking skills!
You'll begin in either the Accounting or Audit Services department and then switch halfway through. To apply, submit your resume, cover letter, transcript, and anticipated graduation date. You must be able to commit to the full 18 months, and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (May 2025 - January 2027).
Hourly Wage:
$17.65 - $19.82
(candidates with significant related experience may be higher)
Description:
Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing daily balancing, month-end reconciliations, and financial closing processes
- Prepare financial and analytical reports
- Assist with department projects, audits, and year-end processes
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform routine accounting tasks
- Conduct audits for accuracy, compliance, and internal controls
- Prepare and present audit reports, and follow up on recommendations
- Assist with external audits and maintain audit documentation
Work Schedule:
- Working approximately 12-15 hours per week during the school year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
- Must be able to work onsite at Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI throughout the school year and during breaks
- This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will start May 2025 and go through January 2027
- Must be able to commit to the 18-month internship
Training:
Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
- Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
Requirements:
- Enrolled at a University throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Completed or enrolled in Intermediate Accounting Coursework
Preferred Experience:
- Completed or enrolled in Information Systems Coursework
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Establish priorities, work independently, proceed with objectives under minimal supervision, and maintain confidentiality
- Have basic accounting principles, analytical and problem-solving skills, and good business communication
- Display meticulous attention to detail, accurate data entry, and high-quality materials
- Show good organizational skills, excellent time management, and efficiency under multiple deadlines
- Learn new technologies, use digital solutions on various devices, and understand basic concepts in Microsoft Office applications
