Software Engineer II- Android (Finance)
This position can be based in Naples, FL, Waltham, MA, or fully Remote
We are looking for a talented and passionate Software Engineer Level II who wants to make an impact in the medical space. With over 40 years of experience in the orthopedic industry, Arthrex is dedicated to providing safe and reproducible solutions for health care professionals. We are seeking a developer who will help us build and enhance tools and applications as we continue to help surgeons treat their patients.
Our tech stack consists of AWS, Kotlin, Swift, and Python and we are always evaluating new technologies and patterns that can have a positive impact on our products.
The Software Engineer Level II will be part of a team focused on building and maintaining our mobile applications and services that help support our sales force as well as improve our customers' digital ordering experiences.
Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin. The candidate will work closely with the mobile development team to build secure, efficient, and scalable applications that provide a seamless user experience. While the primary focus is Android development, familiarity with backend services is a plus.
Main Objective:
Develop, support, and maintain high-quality Android applications that support Arthrex's mission of helping surgeons treat their patients better. Write reliable, maintainable, and well-documented code while collaborating in a cross-functional team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Skills:
Programming experience with a web or mobile language such as Ruby, Swift, Go, Python, Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git.
• Programming experience with mobile language such as Kotlin
• Experience developing and supporting Android applications in a professional environment
o Experience with offline first applications is a plus
• Experience with Jetpack Compose / Coroutines
• Experience developing and supporting web and/or mobile applications in a professional environment.
• Basic knowledge of web/mobile standards, device compatibility and responsive design
• Experience working with RESTful web services
• Experience using agile software development methodologies
Discretion/Latitude:
Works under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Education/ Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2 years of professional experience or Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of software development experience
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Experience working with code editors, team collaboration software. Individual must feel comfortable using the command line. Experience with macOS is a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
