Finance (Plant) - Plant Controller (Finance)
A Brief Overview
The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the manufacturing facility. This
includes managing the plant's budget, financial reporting, cost control, inventory management, and compliance
with company policies and regulations. The Plant Controller will partner with the Plant Manager and other key
stakeholders to provide financial insights that support decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive
profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles and a
proven track record in cost analysis and financial reporting.
What you will do
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash
flow reports. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to support plant
operations. Provide detailed variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
· Develop, monitor, and adjust the plant's annual budget, ensuring alignment with overall company
financial goals. Analyze and control direct and indirect manufacturing costs, including labor, materials,
and overhead. Ensure adherence to the budget by identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective
actions.
· Oversee inventory valuation, tracking, and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy in reporting. Implement and
maintain controls to reduce waste, improve inventory turns, and optimize stock levels. Work with
operations and supply chain teams to minimize inventory obsolescence.
· Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures. Monitor adherence to internal
controls, audit guidelines, and SOX compliance. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
· Develop product costing models and ensure accurate allocation of manufacturing costs. Collaborate with
the plant leadership team to provide forecasts for financial planning and decision-making.
· Assist in the preparation of capital expenditure proposals and track ROI for investments.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing financial data and insights.
· Provide training and support for plant personnel on financial matters.
· Participate in cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and cost reductions.

Education Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
· 4-6 years in financial management within a manufacturing environment. (Required)
· 4-6 years proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. (Required)
· 4-6 years understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis. (Required)
· 4-6 years with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. (Required)
Skills and Abilities · Strong ability to prepare, interpret, and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Must have a deep understanding of financial metrics and KPIs to assess plant performance and provide actionable insights. Ability to analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures and recommend corrective actions. (High proficiency) · Expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, and managing the financial health of a plant. Ability to create and manage plant budgets, identify cost savings, and track costs for materials, labor, and overhead. Demonstrates proficiency in forecasting and identifying areas for cost optimization while maintaining budget compliance. (High proficiency) · In-depth knowledge of internal control processes, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements (including SOX compliance). Ability to enforce financial policies, identify risks, and design effective controls. Skilled in auditing and ensuring adherence to company policies and external regulations. (High proficiency) · Proficient in calculating and analyzing direct and indirect manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead. Ability to allocate costs accurately and develop cost models for products, using standard costing, job costing, or activity-based costing methods. (High proficiency) · Skilled in financial forecasting techniques and creating models that predict financial outcomes, cash flow, and capital needs. Ability to collaborate with leadership on long-term financial planning and scenario analysis, offering insights into future trends and growth opportunities. (High proficiency) · Excellent ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders, such as plant leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, presentations, and collaboration across teams. Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in an accessible manner. (High proficiency) · Exceptional attention to detail in financial data entry, report generation, and audit processes. Ability to spot discrepancies, inaccuracies, or inefficiencies in financial reports and operations. Ensures all financial processes comply with standards and regulations. (High proficiency) · Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar software. Capable of extracting financial and operational data from ERP platforms to support reporting, analysis, and decision-making. Knowledge of system modules related to finance, production, and inventory is essential. (Medium proficiency) · Understanding of inventory management techniques and systems. Ability to manage inventory levels, ensure accuracy in valuation, and optimize inventory turns. Experience in reconciling physical inventory to financial records and minimizing obsolescence. Familiarity with costing methods like FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average is a plus. (Medium proficiency) · Ability to work cross-functionally with plant operations, finance, and supply chain teams. Leadership skills in managing a finance team, providing support, and guiding them through complex financial tasks.
