Head Custodian (Maintenance)
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the Building Systems and Technology Services Manager, the Head Custodian will be responsible for the custodial operations of six public library branches, including grounds, and supervision of the custodial staff and custodial vendors.

EQUIPMENT:
Computer, copier, phone system, library vehicles, cleaning equipment and supplies including vacuum, mop, broom, chemicals, ladder, hand tools, floor buffer, one person lift, and hand truck.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to work at floor level, in tight spaces, climb a ladder, or use a one person lift up to 30 feet in the air. Works mainly in normal heat and light conditions, some exposure to unconditioned areas. May work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Work environment may be dusty or dirty with possible exposure to disagreeable odors and some hazardous conditions. May perform a variety of tasks in a single day at several locations. Work requires a considerable amount of physical activity, including bending, lifting, and stooping.

SCHEDULE/HOURS:
37.5 hours per week; hours may include day, evening and weekend hours. Must have the ability to be flexible and serve as a back-up to other Custodians.
