Highway Engineer (Construction)
GPIseeks a full-time Highway Design Engineer for our growing Long Island Transportation Group. This group is based in our Babylon, NY, office. We are looking for individuals who are ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Our New York projects involve varying types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs. Responsibilities:
Knowledge of highway design and will be comfortable taking a lead role in the design and development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for transportation projectsExperience with the New State, Municipal clients is preferredAbility to develop plans for preliminary and final horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocationsUnderstanding of construction as it relates to developing temporary traffic control plans and construction staging/stormwater plans and details is a plusThis position provides an exceptional opportunity for career growth as the selected candidate will be exposed to a wide range of design projects in our growing group
Qualifications:
5 plus years of highway engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be consideredBS in Civil Engineering required; focus in Transportation preferredEIT required, and PE (NY) is a plusAutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation experience is required
