Open Rank Med-Peds (Finance)

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Med-Peds at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank to provide patient care and teaching duties. The Division of Med-Peds manages patients from newborns to centenarians. MINIMUM:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.The successful candidate must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine/ general pediatrics.
• Candidates must have or be eligible for an unrestricted full medical license in the state of Florida.

PREFERRED:

• Experience in a teaching environment

• The faculty member appointed will be expected to contribute to departmental teaching programs involving medical students and house staff. He/She will participate in preparation/organization of new educational programs as well as participation in university/ college assigned committees. The individual will be expected to effectively utilize his/her clinical practice as a teaching resource.
• The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research and in seeking funding for research. Collaborative effort within the Department and the University will be encouraged.
• The faculty member will be responsible for the management of patients primarily in the outpatient setting at the USF Health Med-Peds clinic. Night and weekend call per the general pediatrics schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.
