A Day in the Life
Join the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) finance team supporting the Technology Development Center (TDC)/Research & Development (R&D) organization.
The Principal Financial Analyst will report to the CRM TDC Sr. Finance Manager and support a subset of the CRM TDC organization by collaborating closely with Advanced Development, Product Security and Privacy, and Finance function leadership. In this role you will get hands on experience with financial analyses, support project planning/reporting, gain insight into the future technology pipeline and priorities, and serve as the primary Finance partner. The primary responsibilities of the position include completion of month-end financial activities (processing, understanding and investigation of results and variance drivers), creation of financial forecasts/plans, ownership of TDC capital process, and collaboration with business partners to drive financial execution and support foundational financial acumen.
TDC Finance support:
• Serve as functional partner to the Advanced Development and Product Security & Privacy leadership teams and provide financial analysis and support/creation of financial plans/actions that drive business decisions and results.
• Provide support to the TDC Sr Finance Manager and TDC Finance Director in financial planning and administration, forecasting, and measurement/understanding of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), forecasts, and Strategic Plan.
• Execute standard period and quarter end financial close activities and support business reviews through standard and ad-hoc reporting and analyses.
• Provide financial expense reporting and analysis, ensuring spending is within budget and company policies.
• Drive the TDC Capital process, including driving the AOP and quarter-end reporting processes.
• Assist in the education and development of business partner financial acumen and reporting tools.
• Drive efficiency/improvement of related finance processes in support of the organization.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (5+ years with an Advanced degree)
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA/CPA/CMA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel and PowerPoint) and strong ability to work in financial/reporting systems (SAP, GFS, Spend, Hyperion)
• Experience in a global organization
• Experience interfacing and influencing various levels of management
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong executive communication skills, both written & verbal
• Ability to operate within a complex organization and various levels of management
• Ability to manage tight time commitments in a high-pressure position
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong organization and prioritization skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information
• Experience with business partnering

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$103,200.00 - $154,800.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
