SUMMARY: Responsible for finding carriers for designated shipments, while building carrier relationships and driving digital engagement for transactional and strategic accounts.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for finding carriers and developing and maintaining strong relationships with them. Fulfill shipments with the lowest cost and best service carriers. Responsible for rate negotiation with carriers. Ensure operational execution. Communicate performance expectations to carriers for each shipment. Participate in carrier business reviews as needed. Review carrier service performance and identify service improvements. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve products and/or services. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience may direct the work of other team members.
PEOPLE MANAGER: N/A EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of experience in truck transportation, truck brokerage, supply chain management, import/export transportation, customer service, negotiations or related experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with data analytics tools/languages (for example, Power BI, Tableau, SQL), customer relationship software (for example, Salesforce) and project management software (for example, Smartsheet's) preferred.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Skilled in preparing clear and concise documents, including but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
