FEMA Community Mittigation Technical Coordinator I (Finance)
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a FEMA Community Mitigation Tech. Coordinator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our digital presence and improving customer engagement through various initiatives.
Provide technical support to the CRS Flood Program involving engineering issues, planning issues, repetitive loss, training and marketing.
Coordinate CRS Training Program involving new staff, CRS Workshops @ EMI and Field Deployed classes, state floodplain management conferences, and local CRS Users Groups.
Coordinate and support updates to program support documents (CRS Coordinators Manual, Specialist Manual and other stand alone documents).
Provide technical support for quality control and program coordination functions including file reviews, technical activity reviews and support to field staff.
Provide coordination between CRS Flood Program and BCEGS Program.
Work with BCEGS staff to provide data as needed (BCEGS classifications are part of the CRS Program.
Position will involve an estimated 20-30% overnight travel.
Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation .
College Degree with a minimum 2 years work related experience in floodplain management, emergency management, evaluation of community building codes, and/or other planning fields related to floodplain and flood hazard management.
A working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking and good math skills.
A working knowledge and/or understanding of hydrology and hydraulics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), topographic mapping and map reading skills, surveying, planning, construction plan review, storm water regulation, etc.
Good Customer service skills, be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess good organizational skills.
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certificate required (if not currently a CFM, must complete course of study and attain CFM certification within one year of employment).
