Clinical Support Pharmacist (Healthcare)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Clinical Support Pharmacist
The Clinical Support Pharmacist verifies the work of pharmacy technicians and ensures accuracy of all orders fulfilled by Vetsource Home Delivery Pharmacy: clinical review of prescriptions, communications with veterinarians and pet owners, and verification of prescription orders being shipped by the pharmacy – requiring incumbents to balance the precision of distributive tasks with the nuances of customer service and drug information skills. Must have flexibility with scheduling and be open to schedule changes, depending on business needs (including required weekend shifts).
This is a full-time, remote position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Thoroughly and accurately conduct clinical drug utilization reviews of new and refill prescriptions
Verify the prescription entry work of pharmacy technicians and interns
Verify the accuracy of medications packaged in compliance packaging
Confirm telephonic prescription authorizations with veterinary staff
Perform drug information consultations with pet owners, veterinarians, and their staff
Perform clinical follow-up with veterinary staff for prescribing errors
Resolve general issues with pet owners, veterinarians, and pharmacy staff
Oversee the dispensing activities of pharmacy technicians as required by law
WHAT YOU BRING:
Current pharmacist license in good standing valid for the state in which you will be based
B.S. or PharmD in Pharmacy
At least 1 year of experience working as a licensed pharmacist
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Problem solving skills: be adaptable, collaborative, and proactive
Team building skills: be positive, respectful, and approachable
Dispensing skills: be accurate, efficient, detail oriented, and dependable
Strong organizational and time management skills
Thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy rules and laws
Highly adaptable with a strong desire to learn new processes and technologies
Ability to work on repetitive tasks and maintain focus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively listen and communicate information in a clear and friendly manner
Experienced using email, Slack, Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Experience in a high volume dispensing environment
Experience in the veterinary industry, including compounding for veterinarians
Experience in remote prescription verification
Experience with working in-house prescription review software
Knowledge of company's workflow

Pay Range (US based applicants): $60.00 - $63.00 / hour
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, certifications, relevant education and training, while also considering internal equity.
