Maintenance Technician (Maintenance)
Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.)
Inspects buildings and equipment according to a pre-established checklist set by the Facility Manager to ensure the facility and its systems are functional; prepare recommendations for needed repairs and schedules as necessary
Reconfigures, installs, positions, and re-mounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
Prepares surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment, using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.)
Maintains a safe working environment, including wearing personal protective equipment, (PPE) ensuring proper storage of tools and equipment when not in use, using proper signage while working, etc.
Works with the Facility Manager to procure the best pricing for parts and equipment; retains required documents including equipment manuals, warranty information, and invoices
Must have a flexible schedule to respond to issues or problems rapidly.
Qualifications and Skills
Must be at least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
5-7 years of experience working in a maintenance position, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment, required
Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies, to read and understand Hazard Communication Safety Data Sheets (SDS), to understand proper applications of chemicals and general cleaning supplies, and to frequently handle and properly dispose of these products
Must be self-motivated and proactive about identifying areas for efficiency and improvement
Must be adaptable and open-minded when troubleshooting new procedures or implementation of new systems
Must be committed to ensuring a secure facility and make sure all staff comply with established safety and security procedures
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings or late evenings as needed according to departmental needs
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for at least 8 hours per day
Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
Must be able to climb a ladder, kneel, stoop, and bend at the waist regularly
Manual dexterity needed for completing equipment installations and maintenance
Visual acuity needed for reading screens and fine print
Workplace Environment
Building maintenance environment, indoor/outdoor, consisting of exposure to moving mechanical parts and seasonal temperature changes ranging from freezing to extreme heat
May be exposed to high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and loud noises
Consistent moderate to high background noise level due to machinery, environmental systems, and fans
Exposure to cannabis odor
Exposure to skin contact with plant resins, to which some individuals may be allergic (PPE provided)
Exposure to moderate heat and humidity in bloom rooms
