Extruder Operator (Manufacturing)

Job Title: Extruder Operator
Location: Mooresville, IN
Full Time, 12-hour shift with rotating weekends, overtime as needed

What you will be doing:
Set-up and troubleshoot pug mills and extruder machine.
Set-up and apply texture and coating line during product changes. This includes 1. downloading the "queued" recipe. 2. physically installing the texture and coating equipment required as per the recipe.
Reports the changeover effectiveness
Set raw material and scrap return feed rates
Sets additive feed rates
Monitors vacuum chamber for over-feeding
Monitors extrusion and pugging parameters for consistency and adjusts if required.
Monitors dust collector and associated ducting/
Continuallly inspects all visible portions of products for color/texture variance.
Rejects any defective product and makes proper adjustments to the machine.
Preventative maintenance of machine.
Actively supports other crew members in training and operations.
Reports maintenance requests to the production supervisor or production lead.
Communicate and work as a team with other operators.
Follow all safety, quality, production, environmental policies and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area on a continuous basis.
