Director of Clinical Operations (Finance)
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
• Collaborates in a highly matrixed environment across UC Health, UC Physicians Company, and UC-College of Medicine to support the strategic direction of departments and/or service lines.
• Participates in organizational improvement and governance committees.
• Develops effective collaboration between clinical and academic departments, medical staff leadership, faculty, community partners, and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the tripartite mission.
• Responsible for collaborating with accreditation to maintain local, state, and national designations, including Joint Commission accreditations and related program development.
• Partners with UCP Department Chairs and associates to improve goals, communication, and coordination across services.
Management of Fiscal Resources
• Creates and manages operational budget for Ambulatory Physician Network clinics based on budgeted clinical activity of the departments working in partnership with the departmental EDBA.
• Utilizes a systems perspective to develop new and/or innovative approaches to optimize business results.
• Implements operating policies, systems, and programs consistent with organizational philosophy, strategy and financial accountability.
• Assists VP of Ambulatory Physician Network by developing business plans which support enterprise strategic goals.
• Maintains an inventory of department equipment and develops the strategy for procurement of operational and capital equipment items. This includes providing financial and operational justification for capital budget requests.
• Participates in analysis of new procedures/technology/research for fiscal impact.
Leadership and Professional Development
• Responsible for clinical operations across Ambulatory Physician Network.
• Provides indirect oversight and alignment of Ambulatory Physician Network infrastructureand matrixed support services (i.e., Revenue Cycle, Finance, HR, IT, etc.).
• Directs clinical practices by collaborating with chairs, EDBAs, medical directors, and clinical management team in the strategic and operational activities throughout the system.
• Meets routinely with system leaders and department partners to optimize communication and effective coordination of care.
• Provides oversight and advice to clinical practices working with chairs, EDBAs, medical directors, and clinical management team in the strategic and operational activities throughout the system.Ambulatory Physician Network Leadership (Clinics and Strategic Business Units)
• Responsible for the overall clinical operations of Physician Network services, including patient care/clinics, quality of care/safety, patient experience, financial performance, and strategic growth.
• Directs teams in the execution of patient care workflows and the coordination of administrative support services.
• Works to align space requirements, supplies, equipment and the labor force with physician activity to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in patient care.
• Expected to participate in leadership on call weekly rotation supporting the Ambulatory Physician Network. Duties including but not limited to the escalation and resolution of facilities, patient safety, and support service incidents.
