TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a resourceful Systems Administrator I to join our team at the Nashville, TN Headquarters.
Summary: We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The candidate should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently with the least amount of downtime.
This position is expected to be hybrid. The selected applicant will report to the Nashville office 3 days a week.
Primary focus will be on:
Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks.
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
Collaborating with team members about ongoing and future projects.
Essential Duties will include the following, but not limited to:
Manage network servers and technology tools.
Maintain Microsoft AD and Group Policies.
Set up accounts and workstations.
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
Troubleshoot issues and outages.
Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
Develop, maintain, and update internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
Provide Level 2 desktop support, including in-person support to senior leadership in our Nashville office.
Assist third-party help desk with troubleshooting issues.
Create step-by-step KB articles for the helpdesk.
Make sure servers and workstations have our security and management tools installed.
Work with vendors to upgrade or migrate applications.
Review automated reports and the ability to act on them when needed.

Requirements and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection/prevention systems) and data backup/recovery.
Familiarity with Hyper-V, Azure, and PowerShell scripting.
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
Experience in Microsoft Office 365 office suite and tools.
Proficient in troubleshooting Window 10 and 11 OS.
In-depth knowledge of M365 administration including Entra ID and SharePoint Admin.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.

Ability to follow the industry standard.
Self-motivation and the ability to work with a team.
Professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
